Hi, welcome to Reynoldsongs.com. This post and the next four posts will give the back story to the first five songs I’ve released. The song “Go Man Go” was written in memory of Charles “Chod” Biggs, a high school friend. We played together in our first band – The Twilighters. Chod played guitar; I played bass.
I hadn’t see Chod or heard from him for many years. I received an email from Bill Golliher, the drummer in the Twilighters and Chod’s cousin, letting me know that Chod had cancer and didn’t have long to live.
Chod and I exchanged a few emails, and then he was gone. Chod was a larger-than-life character: smart, always joking around and laughing, and an excellent guitar player. The Twilighters were a garage band – we practiced in Bill’s garage with his parents blessing. His parents fielded the complaints from the neighbors. We played school dances and after-prom dances, fraternity parties, and bars. We wore the same blue jackets and dark pants; we had fun; we made money; we sang songs like “Louie, Louie” and many other rock ‘n roll classics.
I wrote the lyrics for “Go Man Go” in remembrance of Chod, the band, and those days playing, practicing and hanging out together. Thanks for the memories Chod – rock the heavens.
