The song “Seasons Door” was written for Annelisa – a friend’s baby. I was there when Annelisa was brought home and got to watch her grow for a year or so. The song title and many of the song lines came all at once.

I wanted to write a song about the growth of a child as seen through the changing seasons of the year. I wanted it to be lullaby-like if sung with an acoustic guitar. I will be releasing acoustic and a cappella versions later on.

For now you can hear the electric band version with lead guitar lines added by my old bandmate – Doug Nolte; thank you, Doug!

If you were wondering, Annelisa is all grown up now. Maybe she’ll play the song for her own children one day.
